Any Amateur Travel Agents Out There?

Wouldn't it be fun to schedule a BPR tour of NYC? We could go whenever these auditions are. Anybody see a date? Then we could take field trips to Emmett's store and to Parson's (You have to schedule tours WAY in advance) and to Mood and Atlas and then we could finish up with dinner at Red Lobster! My daughter lives in NYC so I'm always game for a trip. Who's "In?"

  1. omg, this is a stupendous idea!

well, for one thing, to bring together the BPR crew would be superfun. hehe, right after the PR reunion episode, reunions are on the brain...

the idea is a wee bit on the edge of obsession, but are we ashamed? um... scarily not... :)

one thing to avoid is to freak out some of the designers who are in nyc -- after watching project jay last night, it might not be the best idea to congregate 15 BPR fans around him... especially if it's been long since his last cigarette... i wonder what we would do if we saw tim gunn...

[btw, i did see tim gunn on the streets in nyc on a very random moment last year, near herald square or something. i was so starstruck, though he walked very decidedly, so i didn't dare have the courage to stop him in the middle of the street!]

and nick (my nick :) ) and i went to parsons, and then tried to go to mood fabrics, but they closed at some absurdly early hour like 4pm! so, dear BPR readers, make sure your itinerary stays on schedule!

Possibly a bit obsessive, but as christine said...I'm not ashamed!

  3. Living on LI, you can count me in! I'd be happy to be a "fashion nerd" as my DH calls me!

And capping it off with dinner at Red Lobster (if we had enough of a gathering we could get a real reservation!) is just too funny!

  5. I'm in. I'm just a 75 minute train ride from NYC and I easily arrive near the fashion district.

  6. Other stops:

Suede - we can toast to Lupe

Times Square Toys R Us - group photo with all of our Nick Barbies

Bryant Park - impromptu runway show?

Banana Republic - how long do the dresses stay in the window?

MK's studio - could we get a picture of THE orchid in his lobby?

I can hear the bells going off on Fashion Avenue as we speak. "Call the Police, the BPR asylum's been let loose!"

    Any other ideas?

  7. Laura, you should get in touch w/ Bravo and see if you can't get involved in the audition process somehow (ie: interviews, commentary, etc...)

Since we'd be there...makes sense to me!

  11. You should definitely contact Bravo, or the production company. I imagine they would film this group and put it as an extra on a dvd. Why wouldn't they be proud of their obsessives.

Don't try to go near Fern Mallis. Just trust me.

  13. They walked to the flower district, didn't they? We could do that!! And if any of the PR designers who live in NY think it's okay if we seek them out, or would make plans to see us briefly, we could ask ahead of time--

  20. NO STALKING! This is important. I am working on this and I have assured certain parties that we are NOT immature little teenage stalkers but in fact, MATURE, responsible adults! Make me proud. Please.

  27. Laura-

I totally am with you on the no stalking, that's why I suggested maybe making arrangements with willing BR personalities ahead of time if they are willing-hope that didn't come across wrong-so looking forward to it!

  28. Kristin, you are certainly welcome to join us. My 17-year-old son will be along, as well as my 20-year-old daughter. Jessie is a high-school student too and she is definitely "in." Bring a parent or a friend if you'd like. We are definitely a safe and wholesome group. Your mom or dad can e-mail me if they would like reassurance. Please join us.
