Click Here For Our Advice To Season Three Hopefuls

It seems like ages ago that we started this list of advice to season three hopefuls. In reading it over, it's actually for those who make it on to the show. Let's add some advice now for those who are trying out. What do you think would assure an aspiring designer a spot in Season Three? I'm sure it will be highly competitive. Hmmmmmm...

Of course, this is just speculation since we have no real idea what the judges look for. I would imagine the three looks that a prospect brings along should be very well-executed and of course "aesthetically pleasing." Beyond that, they should convey a "unique point of view." Also, I believe that your portfolio should be filled with many additional views of completed garments as well as sketches. It seems that sketches were more important this season than last.

Most important of all, of course is your personality. Be polite and sincere and eager, but still interesting and fun. Be a "bigger" version of yourself. Be the person that you will be on the show. Try to make an impression - be memorable. Present your unique story. Be a character. The producers will be looking for a balance of unique characters. So what is unique about you? Don't hide it!

Wear something interesting - preferably that you have designed yourself. This is your opportunity to show a fourth look so take advantage of it!

Okay, dear readers, what else?

If at all possible, bring a model with you to show off your designs properly. This helps reveal a serious commitment to the process.
