Immunity?

Do I understand this correctly? The winner of the next challenge wins immunity? And the challenge will be to construct something out of twigs and leaves? Arghhhhh!

Why couldn't immunity be offered for the "Inspiration" challenge? That would make a lot more sense. Putting together an outfit from flowers or nature or whatever might be fun and interesting but it is so far into the season... It seems like a rather arbitrary place to bring in immunity. Doesn't it?

Oh I can see the scene now - the designers suddenly getting serious - fighting for immunity - working with vines and flowers. It could be a fun challenge if it were earlier in the season and immunity wasn't at stake. At this point it feels - just contrived. Like "We want the designers to take this ridiulous challenge seriously so we're going to attach immunity to it." And what do you want to bet that they don't hear about the immunity until AFTER they've collected their leaves?

You've all been entering your choices and NO ONE has picked Kara. What if Kara wins the twigs and leaves challenge? What if she somehow has a special talent for this?

Perhaps this is supposed to make the show more interesting and oh so exciting, but frankly, it just seems (to quote Marla) "Stupid."

Why don't the producers ever ask ME for ideas?

: )

You should host a "Design a Challenge" contest, where people can leave comments with their ideas for PR challenges.

That is a great idea, Kimmer. Don't post your entries here, though. I'll set up a new post for it later tonight or tomorrow.

Great idea, Kimmer! Laura K is the next Heidi Klum! :D

Immunity would have worked nicely in the beginning, but now it almost seems too late and "silly" to introduce this idea.

I guess they didn't want to make team leaders or a member of a 2-person team immune to being voted off so they could stipulate that a whole team could be gone in a week.

I'm wondering if no one remembers the near-disaster that befell Austin when his corn husks dried up...

I agree, immunity at this point is plain ridiculous. I feel like they are changing the rules as they go along. "Hey, I know, let's give the winner immunity in the next challenge! Yeah, and they'll have to make dresses from Crown of Thorns bushes! Yeah!" :-O

I agree-this could lead to a Pepperism, where someone ends up in the top 3 or 4 simply because of circumstance, not talent.

But I didn't hear it was a team effort and some posts imply that-does anyone know?

*shakes head*

If it's true, this is a terrible idea! I feel like we've just started to get into the nitty gritty and are beginning to define who the best designers are.

This could turn into a fluke and like someone said, a Pepperism! I give Kara a lot of crap, but it's not that she's a bad designer...just not up to par with others. She could win this and knock someone else out of the top four.

I can see Santino doing well in a challenge like this though, and maybe he'll regain some of the designing gusto he has been lacking lately...

Laura (or anybody else), do you know how long the "real-time" is for the show?

Hmmm. must get coffee. Must try word this better...

What I mean is: How long is the filming from first to last episode? Two weeks?

desertwind, I would imagine it's much longer then 2 weeks. Each show chronicles approximately 3 days and I'm going to go out on a limb and say that they get a day off between. So that's four days per episode times 12 episodes total??

I'm going to round up and call it tow months...lol

How will the sequence of episodes be? I see on TV guide the Makeover episode lasts two hours?

I was just saying that they couldn't introduce the immunity idea earlier since they had the teams of 2 (BR challenge) and 3 (lingerie challenge) and it would be somewhat unfeasible for someone to have immunity and then for the other person on the team (a la BR challenge where they wanted to off a whole team) to be tossed.

I think they wanted to introduce team challenges earlier than last season and more often and bring back immunity.

I don't like the idea of immunity at all. It works on some level for shows like Survivor, but in the world of fashion design, no one ever has a "Get Out of Jail Free" card.

Where does any of this information about the next episode come from? It wasn't in the preview video. Sorry, I'm in the dark.

Who heard team? Not me. I didn't hear team.

Do you think we'll be talking about immunity like we talked about O'Dell last season?

Yes, Nsa. It's a tv show, not actual reality. The plot line probably called for it. Fashion week would be more interesting with Santino chickens walking the runway than Chloe's "Blue" short, simple dresses, and Nick's fish collection.
