Sorting Things Out

I have been receiving lots of questions about fashion week and the final four/final three. Here's what we know:

This week's (Feb 8th) episode is called "Makeover." After Wednesday, if only one designer is eliminated, we should be down to four designers.

Friday is the actual Project Runway Fashion Week Show. If this year is like last year then ALL FOUR will show. The top three and then the fourth "decoy" collection. Last year's decoy collection was presented by Austin Scarlett who was TOTALLY ROBBED... but I digress....

Okay, it is always possible that this week could be a double elimination and then we'll be down to three, but I doubt it.

Daniel has immunity this week which places him in the final four at least. So he should be showing at Fashion Week on Friday.

Next week's episode (Feb 15th) is called "What's Your Line?" which should narrow things down to three designers...

...Who have actually already shown their collections at Fashion Week.

ARGHHHH! Why don't the producers ask me about these important issues?

Surely by the 15th we will have all sorts of videos and still photos of all of the designs. It is a public event after all! So I'd like to propose another idea.

What if we are narrowed down to three this week? Then we only have three designers showing at Fashion Week - no decoy collection. Then the "What's Your Line?" episode is actually the one where Tim goes and visits the designers in their hometowns and we see them working on their collections - their "lines" - get it? Wouldn't that be great?

Okay - then on Feb 22nd we have the Reunion Show which is always great fun. You can visit the Bravo site and submit question for the designers there which may be proposed during this episode. Also on the 22nd is Project Jay. Should be a very satisfying night.

Then at last we have the 2-part finale on March 1st and 8th. This will be fun. We will see the designers choosing models, meeting with make-up artists etc. There should also be some drama in the apartment. Remember these folks have been apart since last summer. Here they will be reunited for the first time after actually SEEING AND HEARING the things that the others have said on the show. Should be interesting.....

I would assume that the March 8th show will feature the actual Fashion Show complete with commentary and interviews with guests. Then they will return to Parsons for the judging. I always thought it would be better to have an audience for this. When Jay was chosen last year, it was weird that there was no one there cheering.

Okay, that's all I know. Anything else? More questions?

It seems that they really could have avoided this whole "decoy collection" thing by starting a week earlier, but I digress. It would be nice if they would at least recognize that on the show, though-- I would have loved to see a few clips of Austin's stuff last year.

Also, Laura, I love the new icon. I actually ate dinner at Red Lobster last night with my other Project Runway nuts in honor of "our little lamb."

I don't think there will be two designers OUT this week because it looks like Daniel is participating in the challenge.
In the previews it shows his hair all blown-out--not his style. Unless he just chose to make himself over so he had something to do.

Ah, but remember there was a week sometime at the end of December with NO new episode. So, this season has been deliberately planned this way. We'll see...

Sorry, Elaine, Too many were viewing it as "spoiler-ish" so I deleted. I don't really agree - but - it was getting out of hand. I'm not trying to create controversy here - just to spread the love of Project Runway!

i honestly think nick got eliminated. do you think he would have had all that time to do brenda strong's dress and his fashion week collection? maybe i'm being overly thoughtful... but (sadly - because i love nick), that's what i think.

aeb - Nick probably could have done both, considering they've 7 months to work on their lines and it was just one dress. Then again, I have a feeling Nick isn't going to make it anyway.

They could have avoided this if they hadn't shown a rerun one week and made us wait 2 week for a new episode!

I definitely agree that there should be an audience of fans to cheer on the winner. The Apprentice Finale would be so boring, if there wasn't a crowd of people to boo and cheer.

Wait, there are other tv shows besides Project Runway?

Thanks for answering my question Laura!

I think that the season is set up this way on purpose...

To decoy one of the designers at Fashion Week and keep us guessing, etc...

At least, at some point we'll probably know who get's booted this week before the episode. ie: no Fashion Week showing...

unforunately, i'm beginning to think there is no possible way that nick can be in the final three since he just did that SAG dress, and consequently, is not in new york

plus, i think the contract wouldn't allow him to do the dress (remember the only one who did a dress from las season before the fasion week runway show was kevin who obviously was not in the final four)

we assume chloe and danny v. are showing (chloe because she's in NY according to emmett and danny v. because he has immunity so he will be in the final four and thus showing even if just as decoy)

so i think santino and kara are also showing

not sure about who actually is in the final three though

please please knock down my theory about nick!

i love him :(

We could really solve all this by watching the live webcast of the Project Runway show on the IMG Fashion World site Friday morning, and the video will (presumably, but NBC has a vested interest in Bravo, so that's big presumption) be stored at MSNBC after the live feed ends - in fact, there's already a Diana Eng feature posted there. At least we'll see which four collections showed before PR gets around to it.

(Incidentally, I watched the Kenneth Cole show this way, and it almost rocked - the video, that is; the show itself was beyond belief).

geekygirl-
You're right. The PR show has been taken off the schedule. I'm sure it's still happening at the time, but we're just not allowed to watch it.

That would have been so great to see it live! I was really looking forward to it.

I'm figuring that maybe NBC Universal may well be throwing weight around re: Saturday's webcast. The Project Runway show is still scheduled for 9 AM EST on the Promenade, webcast notwithstanding, and apparently it won't take very long, Because Ralph Lauren goes on before 10.

I think PR will show the 4th collection. Not on the episode of the Final 3, but we did get to see Austin's collection, right?

Still pissy about not being able to watch it live. I can't wait to see Daniel make the walk down the runway with everyone watching and applauding!

yes i totally agree that the timing is off. The producers should have thought a bit harder about that! I mean, fashion week isn't exactly secret!

'what's my line' has to be where they are told to give one word that describes their style...then they are told to design a certain type of outfit that expresses that one word. (saw it on project catwalk)
