BeverlyHillsPeople.com has a new interview up with PR2 designer Nick Verreos. Incredibly he says, "I'm the type of person who dislikes seeing himself on camera...". Are you kidding me? No one looks better on camera than Uncle Nick!
He also mentions the possibility of doing more television in the future. I think its safe to say that we would all love to see that.

I would love to see Nick on TV on a regular basis. He has such a great personality and is so engaging. Anything he does he'll do well. Go for it, Nick!

Faux mohawks are passe. Why not update the do?

Great interview with Nick. It's interesting that when Nick described the competitive nature of fashion design, that he alluded to the competitive impact of "trust fund babies (hiring artists to materialize ideas for designs)." I could not help but think of trust fund babies like Nicky Hilton (who owns "CHICK," but who has only dabbled (at best) in fashion design classes. Correct me if I am wrong--but I doubt Nicky Hilton has even completed an associate of arts degree in fashion design, or some other art-related field (e.g. fine arts, graphic design, etc). Nicky is quite haughty and acts like she is an important designer, but in reality, I doubt she has a tenth of the training that most of the PR1 and PR2 designers have. I would be surprised if Nicky Hilton is even actually proficient in basic sewing, draping, and pattern making skills. Lastly, I thought of the Olsen Twins (although not technically trust fund babies), these twins have a tween fashion empire, yet neither girl actually has a formal fashion design background. they routinely hire a cadre of artists and "ghost" fashion designers to the work they should be doing. Heck, one of the twins, Mary Kate, I believe, was so undermined by the emotional problems related to her eating disorder, that she could barely finish her freshman year at a non Ivy League college like NYU. I wonder if people like Nicky and the Olsen twins feel like the true to deal
(legitimate fashion designers), or if they consult with therapists to talk about their sense of inferiority....a condition often labeled as the "imposter syndrome."
It's just irritating that people with marginal design skills (at best) like Nicky Hilton will ultimately have much more of an advantage than PR designers
(and other talented fashion designers without family clout). Enough said....I am getting "verklempt," just thinking of the inequity of it all.

good interview with Nick. I think he is a great designer. And I actually like that red dress with the striped top fabric better than any of the runway finale outfits(not to say they weren't amazing too). just my opinion, although it is very NV. and pr2family, i understood and loved your arguement, but as a non-Ivy leaguer who thinks their schools is very adequate, i kind of took offense to that statement. as if people who are a non-Ivy league schools can't go crazy too. i know i am overreacting, but that is just me. also, just wanted to toot on my own horn for a second, if you all don't mind, i got into Southern Cal's Graduate Architecture program, so I am headed to LA in August. thats all for now, congrats Nick, and loved the EMC2 on WNTW. And hopefully I can visit EMC2 someday.

tbone, that is exactly what I thought. My top two schools were Rice and USC, and Rice only accepted 12 people, so I am not that good, and I know that. Anyway, so while I was applying, i was thinking, two great PR cities.

I think Nick could be a "guest" Tim sometime, not saying to replace the icon but would be fun how they bring back people he could come in on some day as the Tim to guide them. He is a sweet person and funny too. So what if his seams were bulgy on Daniel's suit he tried a new kind of fabric and who knows what damage nerves can do to someone. I am watching Top Chef too and people who are experienced chefs are literally shaking. So they all have stress but I think Nick always stayed fun and sweet. I loved his "sure I wanted to cut her" LOL He didn't, he dealt with that situation better then I ever would have but look at me preachin' to a lot of the choir :) Go Uncle Nicky!
Okay, I totally think Nick is adorable and so photogenic. His smile can light up a room and those flashing, passionate eyes are magical. He's the kind of guy that I would love to take out to brunch and then dish on what the other women in the room are wearing. I already have the hat picked out that I would wear. And the shoes.
