Any Amateur Travel Agents Out There?
Wouldn't it be fun to schedule a BPR tour of NYC? We could go whenever these auditions are. Anybody see a date? Then we could take field trips to Emmett's store and to Parson's (You have to schedule tours WAY in advance) and to Mood and Atlas and then we could finish up with dinner at Red Lobster! My daughter lives in NYC so I'm always game for a trip. Who's "In?"

omg, this is a stupendous idea!
well, for one thing, to bring together the BPR crew would be superfun. hehe, right after the PR reunion episode, reunions are on the brain...
the idea is a wee bit on the edge of obsession, but are we ashamed? um... scarily not... :)
one thing to avoid is to freak out some of the designers who are in nyc -- after watching project jay last night, it might not be the best idea to congregate 15 BPR fans around him... especially if it's been long since his last cigarette... i wonder what we would do if we saw tim gunn...
[btw, i did see tim gunn on the streets in nyc on a very random moment last year, near herald square or something. i was so starstruck, though he walked very decidedly, so i didn't dare have the courage to stop him in the middle of the street!]
and nick (my nick :) ) and i went to parsons, and then tried to go to mood fabrics, but they closed at some absurdly early hour like 4pm! so, dear BPR readers, make sure your itinerary stays on schedule!
This is a great idea!
Possibly a bit obsessive, but as christine said...I'm not ashamed!
Living on LI, you can count me in! I'd be happy to be a "fashion nerd" as my DH calls me!
And capping it off with dinner at Red Lobster (if we had enough of a gathering we could get a real reservation!) is just too funny!
DEFINITELY! I'm in!!!

I'm in. I'm just a 75 minute train ride from NYC and I easily arrive near the fashion district.
Other stops:
Suede - we can toast to Lupe
Times Square Toys R Us - group photo with all of our Nick Barbies
Bryant Park - impromptu runway show?
Banana Republic - how long do the dresses stay in the window?
MK's studio - could we get a picture of THE orchid in his lobby?
I can hear the bells going off on Fashion Avenue as we speak. "Call the Police, the BPR asylum's been let loose!"
Any other ideas?
Laura, you should get in touch w/ Bravo and see if you can't get involved in the audition process somehow (ie: interviews, commentary, etc...)
Since we'd be there...makes sense to me!
tbone: we could go stalk Fern Mallis at 7th on 6th...
Where was the Nicky Hilton party?
I just want to post a comment to see my new avatar!
this is going to be so fun...don't forget me!!!!!!
I live in New Jersey, very close
and I'll bring my Barbie for the pic :)
You should definitely contact Bravo, or the production company. I imagine they would film this group and put it as an extra on a dvd. Why wouldn't they be proud of their obsessives.
Don't try to go near Fern Mallis. Just trust me.
I am so in-I would love to do this and it would be so much more fun than alone! I am so in-a short train ride to NYC for me!!
They walked to the flower district, didn't they? We could do that!! And if any of the PR designers who live in NY think it's okay if we seek them out, or would make plans to see us briefly, we could ask ahead of time--
No stalking, kids. I'm all over this - trust me. It's gonna happen. But no stalking. Promise.
i live in new york city, and my mom's design studio is right across from parsons so this is great!
plus we can visit emmett's store, maybe!
Count me in. This trip sounds great!
I live in NYC, too. Actually Bklyn, not far from Jay's temporary quarters in Park Slope. Keep us all posted!
Are drinks involved???
Kidding, but I actually would be into this--out on Long Island.
Mom, can we seek out Daniel V in the non-stalking manner?
Could we get pedicures done at he same place too? And invite Tim Gunn? He said he enjoys the "field trips" the most!
I want to quit my jobs and do this with you guys!
yes, i would like to see emmett's store too! i was in the city tuesday, but went to rockefeller center to see the window - never got all the way downtown!
sooo excited for the trip and to meet you all :)
i wish i could get to NYC. if i could, i would be right there alongside you all. i would get lost in mood though. that would be like heaven with all those fabrics.
great idea mamma laura.
NO STALKING! This is important. I am working on this and I have assured certain parties that we are NOT immature little teenage stalkers but in fact, MATURE, responsible adults! Make me proud. Please.
Great idea! I'd love to join you guys.
No stalking.
I promise.
(Hand on heart.)
Stalking, no. Swooning, yes. Depending on who we might run into...
I was kidding about the stalking!
Sorry for starting that whole "idea" LK...I meant it as a joke though...
No stalking folks!
i think the group should bring their checkbooks and BUY something from each designer...
Aunt Teak--absolutely!
I want DV/Andrae's BR dress for my husband's 20th reunion party!
This is such a fantastic idea!
i'm an ex travel agent. does that count?
trip sounds good to me. i'll skip the red lobster though.
I've been dreaming of Mood and a NY fabric-buying trip!!
see ya,
fiasco
Laura-
I totally am with you on the no stalking, that's why I suggested maybe making arrangements with willing BR personalities ahead of time if they are willing-hope that didn't come across wrong-so looking forward to it!
I'm in!!! Great idea!!!
I would love to go too, I'm a huge PR fan and I live on LI. The only problem is I'm only 16, and I doubt everyone will want a 16 year old tagging along :(
Kristin, you are certainly welcome to join us. My 17-year-old son will be along, as well as my 20-year-old daughter. Jessie is a high-school student too and she is definitely "in." Bring a parent or a friend if you'd like. We are definitely a safe and wholesome group. Your mom or dad can e-mail me if they would like reassurance. Please join us.
Thank You for your response Laura K, I really appreciate it!! My parents will most likely be okay with it because I'll probably bring my sister (also PR fan) with me and she is 18.
thats a fantabulous idea! i live close to the city so i'm already making plans with some of my PR friends to go into the city in late june/early july to stake out mood and parson's and try to catch a glimpse of anyone who would be in PR3. i've already seen the room where they sew (though it was only looking through the window at night). but that would be totally awesome
I'm in! I'm a short bus ride away! (Why I don't go to the Bryant Park shows, I have no idea!)
Can we get Austin, too?!
~~~Too lazy yet to join the Blog community, but still legit!
You realize that after singing "Daniel Franco where did you go?" all day I am now fully expecting to see this show when we get together! How quick can we get it into production?
great idea. i'd have to save up though, being from LA and NY hotels are so expensive. hopefully this won't be real soon. maybe someone can get a discount group rate at a hotel and someone will want to share a room. sitting in on a class or something at parsons would be fun. or, do i dream? a tour of parsons from tim gunn. i'd love to go to mood. i'd like to bring back a plant from plant house. the Michael Kors place is a great idea too. not that i need to meet any of them, but i think if you would try to get some kind of thing with one of the designers,
i would hope for daniel franco or andrae. hopefully emmett will be in his store at the time of visit.
