Okay, I'm Better Now!

Thanks for all of your comments. We welcome all opinions here - I say this often - but if everyone agreed with Laura K we'd have a boring blog indeed. Feel free to express disagreement - just be articulate and polite. Thanks.

Of course, Talida is right, there was this cute moment from Santino and Kara:

Santino to Kara: Are these space pants?
Kara: What?
Santino: Because my ass looks out of this world.

Thanks Santino!

Scarlett, could we get an avatar with this sentiment?

Meanwhile, according to USA Today, Debra Messing is the celebrity judge for the finale.

'Runway' plans fashionable finale
Bravo reality fashion competition Project Runway will tape its season finale Friday at New York's Bryant Park during Fashion Week. The finalists will show their full lines to judges Heidi Klum, Michael Kors and Nina Garcia. In addition, guest judge Debra Messing will help determine the winner. The finale airs March 1 and 8 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

And The Manolo has his Project Runway Post up already!

So.... Which celebrity will be featured on next week's episode? What does the title "What's Your Line?" mean? Who's at Fashion Week? Any model spottings? Anyone going to the show tomorrow? Who is monitoring the streaming videos? What's going on in NYC? I wonder if Emmett has hosted his reunion party yet...

I think 'what's your line' is going to be similar to one of the challenges on project catwalk (the uk version). in that one, they were introduced to sadie frost and (something) french who design frost french (some uk label i guess.) they were told to each give one word they felt described their style...then they were given 10 minutes to create something that would personify that style. then, they were given a particular type of outfit to design , using that word as their base. (i forget the type of outfit) ~MissCreant

Maybe the evening gown has to be a jumping off point for their Fashion Week collection...

gumdrop, no need to apologize for harshness...I think some of us are still in denial...me included!

If Santino makes it to FW, his collection will be awesome I think. Give him enough time to execute all of those ambitous ideas in his head, and he'll put on a great show!

Oh, and good job calling the Debra Messing as a finale gues judge Laura!

From Cathy Horyn (New York Times): A review of Michael Kors!

"A different amazement greeted Michael Kors's collection on Wednesday. I like Mr. Kors's shows. They're a heaven of clichés, a Top-40 radio station of hits, and you always get up feeling good but also a little bad, the way you do when you cry at a TV commercial.

This season Mr. Kors's theme was love stories. That was license to do collegiate wear from the days when girls threw themselves and their penny loafers onto their beds to read the September issue of Mademoiselle magazine.

There were wide trousers with rugby-stripe pullovers, crinkled flannel pinstripe blazers over white silk blouses and knickers, gray flannel shorts and loafers with knee socks, and a cool maxikilt in sheer wool tartan. Brocade jeans appeared with a mink tea-cozy shrug, and there were paisley blouses and glen plaid slacks. I half expected Ali MacGraw to come out and to do snow angels on the runway. But it was fun. Rah-rah."

I'm sorry if anyone is a fan of Debra Messing, but I don't understand how you can use an actress as a guest judge for the grand prize??? Shouldn't it be someone from within the fashion industry?? From what I remember from last season, wasn't Parker Posey the guest judge for the finale and had nothing really of value to say of the collections?

I'm just puzzled about how this season is turning out.

I think Debra is a lot like Sarah Jessica Parker on a smaller level. I've always thought that she seems to really understand fashion. She almost always looks great on the red carpet and isn't afraid to take risks.

I think that if they are going to use an actress, I agree it should be someone with fashion knowledge. I think she's a pretty good choice.

I just watched the commercial for next week's episode and Santino has a HUGE reaction to the announcement of the "celebrity." I don't think this celebrity could be Wendy Pepper because we all know that Santino didn't watch the show last season. That's why he didn't recognize Austin's fabric. : )

... and remember Ms. Messing works for NBC Universal.

I do think Heidi is a possibility for the guest celeb next week. Makes sense to me.

Debra Messing is (more than) fine by me as a guest judge because she has such a wonderful sense of humor - the characteristic that I think is most important to have. Really. Even Ghandi had some great 1-liners. See?

I believe they used Parker Posey as the finale judge on Season 1.

I wonder if they will ask the 3 winners to use the evening gown as a piece, perhaps a jumping off point for their "line"-their runway show?

AJ said...

praddicted, I said almost the exact same thing in my first post...lol

Great minds, right?

See, I knew I must have laughed at least once. Space pants. That cracked me up. I was like, "I can't believe Kara fell for that old joke!"

I have a feeling the celebrity will be Sarah Jessica Parker, especially cause she has expressed interest in the show and the designers reactions seem to say its definately a high profile celebrity.

AJ-

Especially if Debra Messing WAS the celebrity they were designing for-hmmm...

i don't think heidi is the celebrity. it seems sort of silly that bravo would demand the designers to make a maternity gown for their final challenge. but after the shabby last episode i wouldn't be the least bit surprised.

those inserted sound bites were torture!

I'm not buying Heidi as the celebrity either. She was already featured in the lingerie episode and the reaction from the designers would have looked a little different if it was Heidi. I can believe it is SJP though. That would be fabulous! I don't think it's Debra Messing. Featuring her for this challenge AND as a celebrity judge for the finale seems unlikely. I think I'll set up a separate post for this. Any other contenders?

Well she is maintstream but hell so is Banana Republic after all.
We cant forget whom the winner will work for.
I rewatched last season's finale two days ago and Parker Posey - whom I happen to love - did nothing but need a new hairstylist and some methadone. She barely even made one comment at the judging !
I dont think Debra M. will have much influence in the end either. As much as they can let guest judges auf strong designer early on for the sake of attrition, they cant afford a ridiculous choice on the winner.
How appropriate that an actress from will and Grace will choose the winner of the Project RunGay season though :)

THIS SHOW IS GETTING MORE AND MORE COMMERCIAL. VERY SAD. ...I'M STILL NOT RECIVERED FROM SANTINOSTAYING INSTEAD OF MY FAVORITE NICK...
