It's so exciting to find that we have new readers each week! You all are wonderful! I just have a couple of gentle reminders. First, you'll notice that we usually allow anonymous comments. We love all of our commenters, but please understand that as "anonymous" you are still expected to follow the same general guidelines as the rest of us.
Please read through several pages of posts before you add a comment. We are fairly thorough here and your question or comment may have already been addressed. (Yes, we are aware that the designs from the shows have already been posted all over the place. Yes we know that Kara produced a decoy show.) Second, we are all friends here - no arguing. Just state your case as well as you can and then let it rest. Of course always use polite language.
As individuals, we each have our favorites. That doesn't mean it's okay to bash someone else's favorite. We welcome a variety of opinions. If everyone agreed on everything, BPR would be boring indeed - but please state your position politely. Your well-thought-out reponses are appreciated and generate lots of interest. BPR is designed for fans of the show to share as members of this community.
Thank you. Now onto the fun!
We have had some speculation that these might be the "thirteenth" designs for each collection. What do you think? Is there anyone who had any idea that these were not part of the original collections? Not me! I never noticed that these didn't flow with the rest of the collections at all. As a matter of fact, that center design - Santino's - on Danyelle - is gorgeous! It kind of makes sense now. Andrae helps Santino and then Danyelle wears the dress - perfect!
For everyone who thinks that adding the final twist was "mean," remember that all three had to do it and all three had the same amount of time. So at least it was "fair." And how fun to invite the other designers back for the challenge. Personally - I love it!

Has anyone seen the UK version. Project Catwalk, with Elizabeth Hurley?
i've been hoping BBC America will show Project Catwalk, but TIVO can't find it.
Maybe it's on DVD?
yes these seem like the thirteenth designs..
and this explains to me Daniels brown/beige dress. I understand.
I have also been trying to figure out why micheal kors says to santino "i wanna just rip that patch off her chest" I am realizing that this might be towards daniel. Oh no!
Also, I agree that Santino's thirteenth dress is beautiful and doesn't explain.. the bulky, leather and gold skirt outfit.
and it was nice to see the designers get some support from good friends. the people chosen reveals who are the good friends/supporters, it was nice to see Andrae and nick and diana back in the mix.
Those seem like the right choices to me. I wonder if Kara had to do a surprise design too? That would just be mean, since it wouldn't be on the show, but if they had told her ahead of time to make 13 outfits she might have talked to the other designers about it.
I couldn't possibly guess which of hers would be the new design, because they all looked like they took a lot of time and though to make.
I honestly think they chose the people they thought could sew the best.
I love the fact that Nick, Andrae and Diana get to have a little piece of the FW show.
Something else I thought of last night. It would be kind of cool if all 13 aufed designers could have done one look and presented it in the tent. It would be incherent as a collection but fun to see one last design from each.
tbone, i was thinking the same thing...i was also thinking it would be kinda fun to have all the designs from all the challenges of the final 3 shown at FW, just to see their PR work as a whole.
Those look right to me LK...I actually think that Chloe's dress turned out really pretty. That was one of my favorite looks from her collection.
asiangirl, I agree about the MK comment. I feel like it's towards Daniel's dress that Rebecca wore, but who knows?
I'm surprised that those were the three "thirteenth" looks. I guessed Chloe's because of the gold fabric she picked out at Mood and the fact that she said, "I want a babydoll dress." Daniel Vosovic's was also kind of obvious. That dress was the least stylish and polished in his whole collection. (That's a compliment to his collection.) I was completely wrong on Santino's, though. I thought it might be the brown sleeveless top with the leather skirt. They all did a fantastic job, though!
The hems on these kind of give it away. Daniel's and Santino's hems look a little rough. Chloe's looks like it belongs. (maybe her picking Diana paid off!)
But which one was Kara's 13th?
Most of them look quite complex or re multiple pieces - pants, jacket, blouse.
The simplest one is the long purple gown with the blue sash. If that was a last minute design, why couldn'tKara have done that for the evening gown challenge?
well if Kara had to pull one out 2 days before the show without any assistance... the purple one is from her collection.. so I am guessing the purle one is her thirteenth too.
Was I the only one who did not know Rachel Hunter had a knock off style show. Its called "Style Me with Rachel Hunter" and its on WE. Ummm I saw the ending of one epi but I believe I prefer PR 100%.
I knew Chloes was her 13th also based on her "I want a babydoll dress". Dan and Santinos I didn't have a clue.
Don't you think that any PR designer should have learned by now that there will always be some additional hurdle to jump? I know how hard it is to be done early - there is just something in a human brain that makes us hold back a little until the last possible moment. But you would really have to convince yourself that the last possible moment was a week earlier.
This is totally unfair, but here goes....If it was me, I'd plan to have everything TOTALLY finished (i.e. buttons on, hems done, threads snipped) one whole week before I had to leave for NY. I'd have one week just to pack my bags, gets plenty of sleep, and compose myself for the trial to come. These guys should know that there will always be something extra to do, either given to them by Tim and Heidi or some other emergency.
(You may well ask why I'm posting to this blog instead of finishing my work which is due first thing tomorrow. Don't worry, I can handle it, I have plenty of time!)
On a different note, I had a friend who was just at BR looking at the PR display, and she said she was shocked at how unfinished the clothes actually were. I guess you can camoflage a lot of imperfections on the runway.
Man, the gold dress in Daniel's collection is screaming Zulema's COYB dress. Except the whole butt thing, but I can't really tell until next week I guess.
I agree with geekygirrl. The fittings and alterations had to wait until they arrived in New York, but hems, buttons, linings, etc. should have been finished at home. I was surprised when Tim visited Chloe - she only had one outfit done, no concept or overriding theme for her collection, and no sketches. WHAT? And then she said she locked herself in her studio for several weeks to finish her line. That's just disappointing. Was she procrastinating or out of ideas? Maybe Daniel's collection is boring, but he took the challenge very seriously even though he didn't finish in time.
If I didn't know better, I'd have said Chloe's baby doll dress was Santino's creation while Daniel's dress looked like it was a simple Chloe style.
I believe Tim said something in his blog about how some of the clothes look better on TV than they did in person and vice versa. That said, Dan may not be the shoe in I thought he was. A silent Tim is a troubled Tim. But with Nick around, things are looking up.
While I'm happy to see Andrae again, does anyone other than me think it was odd that Dan picked Nick over Andrae?
I don't think it was odd. Nick seemed to be the go to guy in the work room he was good about helping people out.
I think if Chloe got to choose first I think she would have picked Nick or Andrea too.
It would have been odd if Santino picked Nick.. NOW that would be odd.
I had to delete that last one, my spelling was terrible, so here it is corrected: Are hems considered alterations? It seems maybe leaving the hems until last, is to make sure the skirt hits the model in the right place. But I agree with an earlier post - I would have had as much done as possible as soon as possible!
Doesn't Chloe's dress look like Santino's first dress he created this season?
They could have finished the hems at home and taken them up or down a bit if the skirt or dress didn't hit the model in the right place.
I believe those are the 13th designs for the designers based on the clues last night, but I was a little thrown off by Santino's. I would have initially guessed the black leather jacket with the skirt number. Andrae said something like, "we could do a top and skirt" and he also suggested doing a jacket while shopping at mood. Plus, it does stand out in his collection.
Just watched last night's ep again. Didn't like how Daniel said that it was the wrong room when Santino walked through the door. It came across as very catty and immature to me. I'm also reminded of how both Daniel and Chloe said less-than-flattering comments about other designers---apparently they can dish it out, but can't take it themselves. And, let's remind Chloe that Daniel also said that he would NOT have picked her to go to OFW. Just a few other observations.
I just meant that Daniel and Andrae had worked together twice before and won both times. Plus Nick was aufed because of his suit for Daniel.
Laura, I think you made the right picks. Here's my rationale:
1. Chloe's is a no-brainer. It uses the material and fits the description of what she communicated (verbally and in her sketch) to Diana, as well as the fabric they chose at Mood.
2. Santino: In the "next week-finale" preview on Wednesday, they showed Santino working on that taupey-brownish lace bodice on a dress form. And Andre and Santino picked out a fabric at Mood that was similar to the skirt color.
3. Daniel's is by sheer process of elimination in looking at his line. I found that outfit to be awkward, clumsy, and didn't fit in with the collection when I saw it on 2/10. I find it surprising, however, that Daniel AND Nick could produce something that comes off so...awkward and klunky. Overall, the outfit looks hurried, and does not have the same style and "attention" that the rest of his collection seems to have.
I also wondered if Kara was just in the workroom and the three finalists were told not to pick her because she was the decoy. If she wasn't essentially promised a “pass,” then I feel sorry for her. Can you imagine the amount of stress she would've been under, putting out her own decoy show (but we didn't know it at the time, it was that well-executed) AND helping out someone else? Yikes. That seems extremely unfair and cruel, even for the PR execs.
My guess, as far as Kara and the 13 looks, was that they told her to bring 13 looks and didn't tell her about the surprise. I'm ONLY SPECULATING here, but they could have said, "Kara, bring your thirteen best and we'll narrow it down to 12." By the time she and everyone else were doing final FW prep, the other three new about the 13th challenge. So they could've just said to Kara "put someone in the outfit and put that final look on the runway."
Long story short: She might've had a "backup" instead of a "final challenge."
Hey, I just found Michael Kors line at FW if anyone's interested.

I didn't like that catty bit about "wrong room" either from Daniel. Seriously kicked in my empathy for Santino.
Watching some of the old episodes where they had such fun together, it seems weird to me that they could all forget that they used to be friends, or at least that they used to find Santino very funny.
I just don't quite get why Nick suddenly took Santino so seriously during the makeover challenge. I get the feeling that Daniel was more angry that Nick was gone because he liked Nick better. But seriously, I didn't see how either could talk. Daniel's look for Chloe was terrible, and who was he to ask what took so long when his hem wasn't done on her dress. And which is worse, a bad idea badly executed, or a better idea badly executed?
Ugh. Sorry I'm rambling, but I've been looking for an outlet to chat about PR for a while. It's all coming out at once.
Okay. The extra look. Daniel's, is hideous. Chloe's is better, but not my personal taste. Still like Santino's the best. It fits. Thank God for Andre, I'm sure he help tremendously.
i think u hit the nail on the head. i didn't see any of those designs on the rolling racks. plus, that's is the material san & drae picked up at mood.
I agree with your 13th design choices for both chloe and daniel v., but for santino, I think its the 4th dress when you view his collection from the new york metro website that shows their collection. It seems the least finished and the hem is falling apart.
Hi you guys! Nice to find you! I see one of you is from Scottsdale. I'm in Tempe!
Wow, I was also obsessing over the collections for the 13th piece but thought Santinos would be that capelike outfit (which is the only one I'm not fond of in his collection). I LOVE this dress of his. Great to pull out at the last minute (gotta love Andrae).
I'm on pins and needles for next week. I'm thinking Andrae will get it and I hated him almost all season until he started showing all those impressions and songs. Now I'm a big fan!
Nice to meet you guys!
Shoot, I meant Santino. Duh! Sorry!
I would guess these are the three too. I find Chloe’s to be nice, but the top drives me crazy (just like Heidi says), it just looks to small, and makes the models small upper body look smaller. Santino's outfit has a nice silhouette and shape, but the color, MAUVE. And Daniel's doesn't fit his collection color-wise, but I do think the neckline treatment does fit in his collection. And I don't see how people compare this to Zulema's COYB challenge, the silhouette isn't the same, the material isn't the same, the skirt isn't the same. The only thing that comes close is the color, and I wouldn't say they match that well anyway. Nonetheless, it is still a weak piece.
"And I don't see how people compare this to Zulema's COYB challenge, the silhouette isn't the same, the material isn't the same, the skirt isn't the same."
When I saw it, I didnt think about the silhouette or material, but something triggered in my head that said COYB. Its not a insult, it was just a first reaction.
alx9, I understand and see where you are coming from. I just never occurred to me that it looked similar, I was just someone perplexed because I went back to Daniel's whole collection to make sure there wasn't another gold dress.
Also, I have one other question to bring up, if the 'patch' comment was meant for Daniel, which I would agree it would be, and then who were the other comments meant for? They kind of played to make the patch comment sound like Santino. I think that 'top' comment was definitely meant for Chloe. And the comment about you did not try your outfits on models before you got here, I would think this was meant for Daniel too since Tim said something about his 'fitting' to the models. In that case, did we hear no comments about Santino's in the preview? Just speculating.
Some comments about otehr posts...About the preview- I think Santino is in the clear... I think MK's comments were for Chloe and Daniel.
Really, I think one of the reasons Chloe and Daniel are a little catty about Santino is that he was a lot of the focus of the show... and some of his work was not quality. There were two times I thought he should have been out- Lingerie and Make over- But, alas, his creativity won the judges over.
I believe that Chloe seems to have lost her drive to win. Daniel seems to have gotten a little full of himself and his response to criticism has always been very aloof and sarcastic. ("Guess you can't be perfect all the time")
As for Kara, loved her collection and wonder like the rest, why we didn't we this viewpoint in any of her challenge pieces.
Daniel has been my favorite throughout the season, but I am seeing some problems now. I really think Santino will win... even though Tim said if he did it would look like a "freak show" (did he really say that about Santino and Jayboth being winners?!)
I know this is way off topic here, but seeing that Sarah has just invoked Santino's jumpsuit makeover for Kara, did anyone see that Kara is selling a customised jumpsuit on her website? That has got to be post-Makeover, and a wry-ironic twist to the ripple effect to be had from PR. And back on topic, I'm not convinced that Laura's choice for Santino's thirteenth dress is the one--it just looks too beautiful to be an afterthought!
