I drove by the audition site on my way to work and there were a lot of people (this was around 10:30 am). I read that the judges were going to be Nick, Tim, and Lilah Schechner from Elle magazine. I hope someone actually went so we can get a report!

Well, I didn't attend, but a friend did. She just called to tell me that indeed, Nick, Tim Gunn, and Lilah were judges. They had to wait outside the hotel for nearly 3 hours (right on the cold lakefront...brr). But it well, and they did give her a definative "maybe". Not bad, since they turned away over 200 people with "no, thanks". Keeping my fingers crossed for her. (www.katebennett.net)

My friends and I went after work to go check out the scene as we're all obsessed fans. I will provide a longer report tomorrow, but in short, we went, we saw, we had cocktails and laughs admist a sea of orthopaedic surgeons who were staying at the W for their convention, we schemed and decided to send drinks up to Tim and Nick, they very graciously came down to the lobby to say thank you to us, we got to squeal like little girls when we got to meet them, and we took a few pictures with them. It was a fan's dream come true. I also spoke to a few of the hopefuls who tried out and didn't make it. It was heartbreaking and I wished them the best. Even despite this, they all had positive things to say about Tim and Nick and how nice they were. Did I mention it was a PR fan's dream come true? At least it was for me.

Thanks PC. We'll be traveling tomorrow to NYC so please post your report as a comment for now and then send the "full report" - with photos - to our e-mail address and we will post asap. Oh, aren't you so clever to send up drinks!?!?!? : )

Kimba, your friends work is beautiful. Makes me want to renew my vows and have a big wedding so I can get one of her dresses.

I live not too far from the "W" Hotel, where auditions were held. I encouraged a friend, Lisa Lee to try out, since she knits and makes fashions out of colorful yarns. I will have to see if she went. Me...I was sad because I make hand beaded jewelry...so I'm just an "Accessory" guy....It would be neat if Project Runway incorporated a MODEL, with FASHION DESIGNER and an ACCESSORY person...but I guess that can all get a little crazy?!?! LOL!

I'm glad you think so Karen! She just did my wedding dress when I was married in November...it was amazing!
